Reacting to the recent announcement of the inflation rate further easing to 3%, Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Arturo Milan said that this will boost business and will be good for countryside traders.
`As inflation eases the possibility for increased economic activity, especially in the countryside," he said.
Milan further explained that lower inflation opens up the possibility for the Bangko Sentral to lower benchmark interest rates, which in turn, will spur lending and financing activities that increases the volumes of trade," he said.
The 400 strong Davao City Chamber will organize three major events this year, including the Davao Investment Conference on June 20-21 at the SMX Convention Center, the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise MSME Week in July and the 21st Davao Agritrade Expo (DATE) in September.
