Two major toll roads were recently launched this week.
The Cavite Laguna Expressway
It is a four-lane toll road project that starts from the recently completed CAVITEX in Kawit, Cavite and ends at the SLEX-Mamplasan Interchange in Biñan, Laguna.With
eight interchanges it will connect more suburban communities and enable faster transport within the southern tagalog region.
The Southern Luzon Expressway Extension (SLEX Toll RoadTR4), is the 66 kilometer extension from Sto Tomas in Batangas to Lucena City. It will have 7 interchanges and be completed in 6 packages. The projects contractor is San Miguel (SMC) infrastructure.
SMC President Ramon Ang is confident that the P13.1-billion toll road will finally be completed in 2022. This extension to Lucena would have been completed decades ago had previous governments actually implemented it. the designs and rights of way were reportedly ready for years.
The CALAX Expressway would have been one of the banner projects under the previous administrations Public Private Partnership. Like SLEX TR4, delays hampered its implementation.
With these new roads, motorists and residents in CALBARZON can enjoy the faster travel snd transport of goods.
