DUQUE RETURNS AS DOH CHIEF

In an announcement, The Office of the President appoints former Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque as interim DOH Secretary, replacing Paulyn Ubial whose appointment was rejected by the Commission on Appointments last week.

The pangasinan- born Duque returns to the post he once held under the Arroyo administration from 2005-2009, replacing Manuel Dayrit. He previously served as DOH underdsecretary and as Philhealth president from 2001-2005.  He served as Chairman of the Philippine Civil Service Commission from 2010 to 2015.
