Opposition bets & Du30 allies drop, old names gain in latest senatorial survey

In the September 7,2018 Pulse Asia Senatorial Survey, possible opposition candidates and known allies of President Duterte fell a few places while old names gained in the standings.

Former PNP chief Ronald de la rosa Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson and Special Assistant to the President Bong Go all fell from their prevoius rankings. All three have reportedly indicated a willingness to run for the Senate.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, on the other hand slid slightly from fourth to fifth place despite repeatedly stated her refusal to run for the Senate.

The surprise, though, was the significant drop of incumbent senator Bam Aquino fell from 12th to the 18-23 range. This, despite vocal opposition to the policies of President Rodrigo Duterte. As a result, no opposition bets of the Liberal Party save for former Senator Mar Roxas remain in the top 12.

Using face to face interviews, Pulse Asia`s nationwide survey of 1,800 registered voters was conducted from September 1 – 7, 2018. It bears a margin of error of plus/minus 2%.
