Marco Polo Davao recently held its Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
The night was welcomed by Marco Polo Davao’s Acting Director of Finance Tirso Bitacura. Joining General Manager Dottie Wurgler-Cronin in the ceremonial lighting were Mrs. Virginia Anderson and Major General Noel Clement of the Army’s 10th Infantry Division.
The hotel building and lobby were dressed up with the theme “Shining Holidays.” Native ornaments in gold and white were decorated in the 12-ft. Christmas tree and hotel hallway.
The hotel also launched its Corporate Social Responsibility activity, the Bangon Marawi donation drive. Guests who wanted to help in the rehabilitation of Marawi City took part in the drive by hanging a Christmas Star.
“Christmas is a season of great joy: a time for remembering the past and hoping for the future. May this lighting ceremony be a symbol of hope to our country and a reminder to us that we can be an instrument of bringing lightness to the darkest moments of our fellow Filipinos.” said Wurgler-Cronin.
The ceremony was attended by Tourism Regional Director Robbie Alabado, Councilor Bernie Al-ag, City Tourism Officer Generose Tecson, representatives of the Davao Tourism Association, Hijos de Davao Foundation, JCI Davaoeña Daba-Daba and JCI Davao Inc., friends from the media and partners from the corporate and private sector.
