BIR SHUTDOWNS UNREGISTERED POGOs

 

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in coordination with the Department of Finance (DOF) through its
Task Force POGO  shutdown of the operations of a
Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) service provider for violating
Section 115(b) in relation to Section 236 of the National Internal Revenue Code of
1997, as amended (Tax Code).


Closed today are the branches of NEW ORIENTAL CLUB88
CORPORATION (“NOCC”) located at Parañaque City. NOCC operates as a
Customer Relations Service Provider and Live Studio Streaming Provider with its
Main Office located at Makati City and several branches in Parañaque City.

 

Results of the investigation showed that NOCC has unregistered branches
as certified by the Revenue District Office No. 052 – Parañaque City, having the
jurisdiction over the said branches, in violation of Section 115 (b) of the Tax Code.
The Closure Order was effected by Deputy Commissioner for Operations
Group Arnel SD. Guballa.
